Dr. Franko M. Kotlyarsky is a leading specialist in the field of theory of formation of physical and chemical inhomogeneity of cast aluminium alloys and creation of methods to increase a quality of casting. He has developed a new concept about the mechanism of shrinkage formation and gas defects proving that their form is determined by the sign appearing in a metal of solidifying casting stress.
Contrary to topping in the theory and practice of a casting production tendency to struggle with gas in a metal, he has grounded an advisability of limited saturation of aluminium alloys with hydrogen with the aim to increase impermeability and size accuracy of castings, and to reduce non-productive expenses on a liquid metal to get a feeding system with aq simultaneous provision of nesessary mechanical and exploitation properties of casted products.
