Master in Mathematics (1966) of the University of Lille, N-France. Graduate of Crystallography and Extended Studies in Solid State Physics and Material Sciences (1969), University of Grenoble (SW-France). Ph.D. (1970), University of Grenoble. State Thesis Doctorat (1976) “Structural and Magnetic Properties of Ternary Manganese-rich Carbides and Nitrides”. He has wide interests in fundamental and applied properties of intermetallic compounds, mainly magnetic series (hard and soft characteristics) on one side and hydrogen storage materials on the other side, which are both interstitially modified systems.

Relationship structural properties and physical characteristics is the main principle of his activities. For this doing, he systematically performs both neutron scattering experiments and synchrotron radiation spectroscopy analyses. Research Director at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, and heads a 10 permanent researchers team at Laboratoire de Cristallographie, Grenoble. Has published more than 420 papers, mostly in International Journals.
