Dr. Lev S. Bushnev is recognised as one of the leading scientists in the field of structure and mechanical properties of metal solid solutions, dispersion hardening alloys and metal–hydrogen systems. He has discovered and investigated the hydride shape-memory effect in the V–H system, surface martensite transformations in the V–O(N)–H system, diffusive creep and diffusive shape-memory effect in two-phase interstitial alloys.
